We had a great first day!

Our very first day of Project ASCENT has come and gone. The students did a wonderful job digging right into our topic of immigration. We did a lot in our three hours together including creating this acrostic poem about immigration:

Immigrate

Meet Americans

Many people came to America

In the 1800's and now

Grant the wish of freedom

Really excited, tired, hopeful

America welcomes you

The lady welcomes you

Immigrants are all different

On the land of the free

Now you are home!
