UNIT 2 Earth and Science

We are finished with weeks 1 & 2 of our new unit on Earth and Space. Students spent week one exploring the 3 stages of a river's life, their weight in space and the process of erosion. Students also had fun creating their "Handy Dandy Science Notebooks". Check out the photo!! During week 2 we explored Constellations and the Greek Myths that go along with them. Then the students created their own constellations and myths. The students were very creative and thoughtful with their original constellations. They turned out great!

Immigration Unit Comes to an End!!

Today was our last in class session on immigration. Students participated in "The Meeting of the Minds" show. We had the students dressing up and taking on the characters of their immigrants. Among the participants were:

• Arnold Schwarzenegger
• Joseph Pulitzer
• Andrew Carnegie
• Greta Garbo
• Elizabeth Blackwell

Students used research to prepare to be "interviewed" as their immigrant. We all learned a tremendous amount about the lives and contributions made by these immigrants.

Thursday is our field trip to the Cincinnati Museum Center. We will be visiting the Cincinnati History Museum and attending a Learning Lab called "Coming to America" We are all very excited to make this journey!!!!
